SAILOR MOON by Melanie Schultz

Hi. I've been a fan of this blog for a while and am glad to now be contributing to it. Sailor Moon as my first spitballer makes this first post extra special. Sailor Moon was some of the first fan art I drew. I'd tape Sailor Moon off of YTV then I would pause the vhs and I try to draw Sailor Moon (actually it was usually Sailor Venus) before the pause stopped and the video automatically started playing again. I originally wanted to make her a bit more pouty because she was constantly whining but this is how she ended up.

Sailor Moon rocks!  That's all I have to say.

SAILOR MOON by David Cutler

I almost didn't post this because I t came out a little too similar to Meaghan Carter's piece, but then I remembered my trustee motto: "Screw Meaghan". That's sort of my motto anyway, I had to clean it up a little.

I was an un-ironic Sailor Moon fan during its original run, gender demographics be damned. I remember wishing they'd make proper action figures rather than the terrifying noseless dolls that Irwin toys put out instead. It was like the 90s version of being a Brony, I guess.

I'll always have fond memories of Sailor Moon, wish I'd done her more justice here.

SAILOR MOON by Adam Gorham

Fighting evil moonlight, winning love by daylight...
This may come as a shock, but truth be told I was never into Sailor Moon. So this weeks entry was something of a challenge, because apart from striking poses in front of dazzling backgrounds, I was never sure what Sailor Moon--or any of the Sailor Scouts--actually did.

But when I thought real hard, I did recall she had a wand... or a scepter. Or something. And she and the other Sailor Scouts had to collect all seven of the magic pokEballs, elsewise Tuxedo Mask would continue to turn into a giant female panda when splashed with water.

Then it was all clear. I had to draw Sailor Moon in her classic Super Saiyan pose. Voila!

Mark, ink and watercolour on 9"x12" bristol vellum. The original art is up for sale in gallery.

SAILOR MOON by Ken House

I have fond memories of Sailor Moon, which would play on YTV during my lunch break in third grade.

SAILOR MOON by Andrea Scott

Sailor Andrea Says!

I couldn't pass up Sailor Moon week and not draw my favourite couple in the series- Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus! Drawn in their Eternal Sailor(ish) costumes, since I am a huge Sailor Moon nerd.  I can't wait for the 20th anniversary reboot, even though that makes me feel, well, ancient.

Thanks for the guest post Andrea!!!

SAILOR MOON by meaghan carter!

I don't usually have all that much to say about my posts here. Today is not the case. I had loads of fun with this week's choice. I've been looking for an excuse to draw Sailor Moon for forever now. I love Magical School Girls, and I think the studio knocked that first costume out of the park with the design. Sailor Moon Says! - Meaghan
