PARKER by Neil Tavares
So I know nothing about this guy, but I know I love Cooke's writing, so I think I will need to pick up a copy and see for myself!

PARKER by Adam Gorham
I chose Parker because I like hard-boiled crime thrillers, and in the world of comics few do that better than Darwyn Cooke in his adaptations of Donald Westlake's novels. When you get right down to it, however, choosing Parker for this weeks entry was made difficult for the fact that he lacks a iconic look. He's a character largely defined by his actions and grim, pragmatic personality. To look at him though, he's just a tough looking guy in a suit, usually scowling behind coiling tendrils of cigarette smoke.
So to make this tough guy in a suit quintessentially Parker, I tried emulating Darwyn Cooke's aesthetic in his graphic novels, as well as adding some intrigue with a femme fatale.
That's the thing about Parker: he doesn't always carry a gun, but you're pretty sure he's got the upper hand. As always, you can buy the original here.

I must admit I am not familiar with Parker at all, but there's always my buddy google. And according to google, the 1967 film Point Blank and the 1999 film Payback (with Mel Gibson) were both based on the first Parker novel: The Hunter. Cool.
Here's my take on the man with a suit and a gun (as David so eloquently phrased it.) Been down with the flu for a week, so thanks for the warm up to get back to drawing!

PARKER by David Cutler
Spitballin' proudly presents: Man in Suit with Gun!
I kid. Though I consider myself a pretty big Darwyn Cooke fan I know nothing about Parker and haven't read his adaptations. I guess I'm a Darwyn Cooke poseur. I think maybe he's like a James Bond if James Bond were a criminal--is that fair?
Sorry about the crappy scan, I can't scan marker at all.
