Growing up I used to assume Catwoman was only ever as popular as she was because she was the first to get to a really good super-name. Like 70 years of history and she never had a very good or iconic costume until Darwyn Cooke. That is, unless you count the 60s TV series or the 1992 Burton Batman Returns movie--Selina Kyle's stitched together halloween duds were just about the only good thing about that flick, but they were awesome enough to carry every scene she was in (Pfeiffer helped, too, I'm sure).
Anyway, I like Catwoman a lot now that she has a good costume, which the other Spitballers illustrated quite nicely. The colours on this are more basic than I originally intended, but sometimes you just gotta hock these spitballs out and move on with your life.

CATWOMAN by Gerard de la Costa
Since Selina Kyle is so sleek and shiny, she deserved a sleek and shiny treatment. This is my take on her inspired by Patrick Nagel. Don't remember who he is? Go find your copy of Rio by Duran Duran on vinyl -- that's his handiwork on the record jacket. And I hear some of you young'uns asking: "What's a record jacket?"
To which I answer: "Piss off!"

CATWOMAN by Michele Assarasakorn
This week's guest post is from local hero Michele Assarasakorn, and yes, that's a real last name. Michele's a fellow MTM Animation School alumni, and now works as an illustrator and concept artist to the stars in downtown Toronto. In her spare time she likes to bake and laugh at Dane Cook. Fantastic piece, probably done inside of five seconds, because she's an unstoppable monster. Check out her sketch blog if you dare.
