SWAMP THING by Daniel Wong

My first post on Spitballin'!  Thanks guys for welcoming me on board.  A digital speed paint of the big swampy guy.  Looking at it now, he kinda looks like what the Japanese do at a bath house or onsen (hot springs,) just soaking his troubles away.  All he needs a towel on his head.

Looking forward to more fun doodles.

SWAMP THING by Ken House

Swamp Thing and Abby!

I spent the week reminiscing about how into Moore's Swamp Thing run I was as a teenager, and the action figure I had as a kid that changed color in water.

It's been a busy week and I didn't quite find time to finish this one, which is unfortunate because it would have been a learning experience.

SWAMP THING by Adam Gorham

Spotting the Swamp Thing!
I imagined being a nature photographer taking wild life shots in some swamp and seeing this through my lens, at first not realizing what I've glimpsed past dense foliage. When the realization does come, it's accompanied by the petrifying understanding that he sees me too.

This piece done in marker on 9" x 12" bristol vellum and is on sale at my gallery.

SWAMP THING by David Cutler

Swamp Thing,
You are Amazing!
You fight everything... nasty
Swamp Thing!

Swamp Thing's one of my most embarrassing comic book blind spots. I've read maybe one, two issues of the Alan Moore stuff. Mostly I know him from the short-lived animated series, which is not something I like to admit at parties.

THE THING by Ken House

I thought for this week I'd try one of those poses where Thing gazes disgustedly at his hands and wonders how cosmic rays managed to change the number of fingers on them.

I love him, he's one of my favorites to draw!

THE THING by David Cutler

I was nearly done this one when I realized the Thing only wore this costume for like 3 months in the summer of '96 before being killed by Onslaught in that year's big crossover event. He got better, of course, but this costume was never seen again. Made an impact on a young me, anyway!

Ben's a favorite, for sure.

THE THING by Ryan Bullard

The Thing is definitely a favourite of mine, and I never pass up a chance to draw his ever-lovin' mug. Of course, he always needs something to clobber, which gives me an excuse to draw another character I can never pass up on - Dr Doom. I did this drawing pretty fast and scratchy, so hopefully you can tell what's going on. If not, it's just Ben handing Victor an average Tuesday afternoon humiliating defeat.

THING by Adam Gorham

I rarely get to draw Ben Grimm. What I wanted to avoid was making him a series of round, rocky lumps, which is easy to do with the Thing. Maybe that takes away from his character. You be the judge. Either way, this was fun!

NIGHTCRAWLER by Ken House

I really enjoyed the other entries this week so I thought I'd sneak in a very late Nightcrawler myself.

Lately I've been playing around with pencil crayons, so I wanted to experiment with the digital airbrush and see if it'd give me that kind of look.

Good ol' Kurt. Too bad you're dead.

In my continued effort to catch up on weeks past, I present Nightcrawler from The Uncanny X-Force.
