ADVENTURE TIME by Neil Tavares

So here is my pic for Jake and Finn. I have to say, this is one of the best shows on the air these days. We had a long chat about how bad most shows were the other day on our chat. (Ryan sounded like an old guy) Some of us agreed on some points, and others agreed on others. The general thought was that you get attached to whatever you watched as a kid. TMNT, Transformers, most of them don't hold up these days.

Adventure time is a really good show. I find it does have some really funny and fun moments. I really should watch more of them.

hope you like it!

ADVENTURE TIME by Michael Walsh

I absolutely love this show and was ecstatic when it was named as this weeks pic. I tried to give my own take on the characters while still maintaining the feel of the show.

I was envisioning a comic book called "Finn - The Last Human", where our hero travels through the land of Oo slaying all kinds of monster accompanied by his amazing dog Jake.

SUPERBOY by Michael Walsh

I actually had some fun drawing this costume, it was very nostalgic. When I was 6 I used to draw this character over and over again while wearing circular rimmed sunglasses. My friends thought I was cool.

SUPERBOY by David Cutler

I really love it when a superhero's costume is so of their time they couldn't have been allowed out of the house wearing it in any other decade. Does it get anymore 1993 than Reign of the Supermen Superboy?

It's weird to think this guy became Timothy Drake's best friend. I figure in the mid 90s Tim was listening to a lot of Oasis, Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms... probably Bush. Superboy preferred C+C music factory and Marky Mark and the funky bunch.

If you're curious, Kyle Rayner was into Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, maybe Screaming Trees and Soundgarden. Wally West was listening to Barry Allen's Neil Diamond box sets. Bart Allen listened to nothing but Weird Al Yankovic polkas and Jerky Boys tapes.

Oh yes, I've given this some thought.

PLANET OF THE APES by meaghan carter!

PLANET OF THE APES by Neil Tavares

Here is my contribution to the Planet of the apes pick. I was always a fan of the movies. When I was a kid, I sat through a LONG run of the entire series at the time. Featuring Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and last but not least Battle for the Planet of the Apes. The Beneath the planet of the apes was the one that was most memorable to me though. The whole missile as a god thing? So cool.

Anyways, I have to say I was BLOWN AWAY by the "Rise of" movie. I can't tell you how amazing I felt that it was. Anyways, I hope i just did some justice to the movie.

Yes, rushed posts have become such a habit for me that i'm going to stop even making a note of it, starting now.

PLANET OF THE APES by Michael Walsh

Really cool pick from Ryan. I was originally going to do something from the original movie but ultimately went with Citizen Aleron from the new Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes comic (which is fantastic by the way).

One a side note, stay tuned because there may be a colour version of this going up at a later date by a guest baller'.

NOTE: Adam Metcalfe laid down some truly unbelievable colours on my apes piece and I just had to post it.

BATMAN BEYOND by David Cutler

Doing something I wouldn't normally do here, but we've all been getting really busy lately and I wanted to keep the post numbers up. This is a bat photo of a Batman Beyond con sketch I did over the weekend. Also it's off model. Also I hate you.

I've loved Batman Beyond since the previews for it started airing in the fall of 98. Still, every time I think of Batman Beyond I think of the commercial YTV ran for it sometime in the middle of its run, when YTV seemed to think it was keen to advertise their shows by making fun of them. Here's the little ditty they wrote for Terry McGinnis, to the tune of Camptown Races:

This Batman is way beyond
Doo-dah, Doo-dah
Way beyond the old Batman
Oh, de-way-beyond
.

Wish I could find a clip to it because there was more to it than that ("Batman's got a jeeeet"). Track it down for me, friends.

Batman vs Inque.
She looks a bit more like "Glob" or "Puss" in this drawing, but whatever, yo mama.

Here's another quick one from me, looking forward to spending a little more time on these in the hopefully-near future.

BATMAN BEYOND by Michael Walsh

Was planning on fully colouring this week but I am already a little behind on commissions and some other deadlines so I can't justify the time.

Anyways, if you haven't watched the Batman Beyond animated series you are seriously missing out. I loved it then and I think I love it even more now.
