Mazinger, Mazinger Z (Grand Mazinger) and Grendizer are classic manga and anime of the 70's and prototypes for all the bad ass giant robots and mecha that followed (Gundam, Macross to name a few.) Being a child of that era, these have a special place in my heart.
This piece was sketched and inked digitally. I didn't have time to do a full colour rendering, so I opted for a quick half-tone colour effect, which imho gives it a nice retro feel. I hope you like it!
